Presentation of gifts to Sensei Philip Benge
Two videos taken during the closing presentation of the May Day bank holiday weekend course held at the Campus, Weston-Super-Mare have been uploaded to YouTube. The first video shows the presentation of gifts to Sensei Philip Benge from members of the Rising Stars kid's Aikido club and the second video shows the presentation of a sword to Sensei Philip Benge from members, parents and friends of the United Traditional Aikido Association of clubs. A third and slightly longer video filmed from the opposite angle is also available to view on YouTube.

Sensei Chris Gee
On Sunday the 9th of November 2008 Sensei Chris Gee of Rising Sun Aikido was promoted to Nidan.

More members of United Traditional Aikido obtain the British Aikido Board Coach level 1 Certificate of competence
Over the weekend of the 8/9th November 2008 Mike and John of Itai Doshin Aikido and Chris, Al, Mike B, and Paul of Rising Sun Aikido successfully completed the British Aikido Board level 1 Coach course hosted at our own dojo at the Campus.
The course was an intensive two days consisting of a full day of theory based learning following by a day of practical assessment.
With all the participants passing the course we now have nine BAB qualified coaches within the UTA.
Congratulations to all of them.
Itai Doshin expands its training in Bridgewater area.
After only a year from being opened Itai Doshin has expanded and opens at on another night and a new venue.
Sunday 6.0pm-8.00pm Enmore Memorial Hall, Enmore,Nr Bridgwater.

Weston-Super-Mare Town Council Community Champion Awards
On Thursday May 24th Sensei Phil Benge was presented the prestigious 'Locking Trophy' Award by the Lord Mayor of Weston super Mare at the Blakeney Theatre.
Sensei Phil Benge was surprised at being nominated and was even more shocked to win the trophy.
